About Us

Silent Reminder Entertainment Corporation (“Silent Reminder”) was established in 2019 by Daniel A. Murphy. Daniel was born and raised in Rhode Island, the youngest of John and Grace Murphy’s four sons. Daniel graduated from Providence Country Day School, followed by a post-graduate year at Choate Rosemary Hall. Daniel earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in Business Economics and Organizational Behavior & Management from Brown University and Master of Business Administration in International Business from Bryant University. Daniel also studied music under Professor Jeff Todd Titon at Brown University and taught himself how to play the djembe while studying at the University of New South Wales in Sydney.

Daniel A. Murphy is the Founder and CEO of Silent Reminder Entertainment Corporation and Silent Reminder Publishing, LLC. After traveling throughout Australia, Fiji and New Zealand, Daniel returned to the United States and joined the popular music group, Lazy Dog, as a percussionist. Upon graduating from Brown University, Daniel’s career in finance accelerated when he joined the CMBS Department of Societe Generale, now SG Cowen, in New York, NY. The tragic events of September 11, 2001 forced Daniel to prioritize his family over Wall Street, so he returned to Rhode Island to join Home Loan Investment Bank, FSB (HLIB). At HLIB, Daniel assisted thousands of homeowners and business owners with financing their dreams into reality. He developed the small business lending division of the federal savings bank, Ocean Capital, into a preferred Small Business Administration lender and USDA Business and Industry lender nationwide. Continuing his passion for small businesses and entrepreneurship, in 2013, Daniel and his brothers transformed a vacant office space in downtown Providence, RI into the Hatch Entrepreneurial Center, a co-working space for entrepreneurs. Daniel teaches entrepreneurship at local universities, financial literacy courses at non-profit organizations, as well as mentors local entrepreneurs. He also volunteers for the Center for Women & Enterprise as a guest speaker, where he teaches “How to Obtain Bank Financing.” Daniel has been active in the non-profit community. Daniel has served on the Board of Directors for the Rhode Islanders Sponsoring Education (RISE), Manton Avenue Project, McAuley House, Meals on Wheels of Rhode Island and Providence Economic Development Partnership, Inc. (PEDP). Currently, Daniel serves as the Secretary of the Providence Business Loan Fund, Inc. In 2013, the Providence Business News recognized Daniel’s commitment to entrepreneurship with the prestigious Forty Under 40 Award. Daniel is a proud graduate of Leadership Rhode Island (LRI) class of 2017, and he continues to support LRI through his mentorship and stewardship activities.
